In German, "katzenjammer" literally means "cat's wail" and is at times used to indicate a state of ecstatic bewilderment, which appropriately describes the zealous all-female quartet, the queens of sultry sound and the saints of scarred souls - Katzenjammer!

The trumpet fanfare that is just one of Katzenjammer's instrumental hooks has signaled their whirlwind entrance from the Norwegian stage to the international music scene. Their songs mash up Balkan music, folk, pop, rock and country like they've never been heard before.
