In A Broad's Way, Stevens, who originated roles out of town and on Broadway
in Urban Cowboy and Dracula, and who was in the original Broadway company of Jekyll & Hyde, revels in the excitement of an actress/singer's peripatetic life. She also frankly exposes some of the compulsions, relationships and obsessions that have colored her life -- from being a twin, a dyslexic stripper, and a hard-working thespian -- as well as the people, like her colorful raunchy mother, who have set her on the coast-to-coast path to where she finds herself today -- a new mom in a committed marriage.
