Internationally acclaimed vocalist/composer Jocelyn Medina presents her diverse repertoire of jazz, funk, world and pop-influenced original compositions, freshly arranged standards, bossas and boleros. Her music has universal appeal, fusing elements of Brazil, Spain, and Africa with jazz harmonies and adventurous improvisations delivered through compelling lyrics and a distinct sound.
Jocelyn gathered much of her eclectic mix of artistic influences during the four years she spent living abroad in Madrid, Spain, where she performed in jazz festivals and venues throughout Europe and recorded her first full-length CD of original compositions, "The Journey Begun." Since moving to New York City in 2005, she has established herself as a unique and powerful voice in the local jazz scene. Currently based in Brooklyn, Jocelyn is accompanied by an all-star international band of New York's best including Rodrigo Ursaia on flute and saxophone, Miles Okazaki on guitar, Perry Wortman on bass, and Bodek Janke on drums.
