WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Experience the spectacle of this rarely performed work, one of the finest dramatic oratorio settings of the 20th century. In Joan of Arc at the Stake, Swiss composer Arthur Honegger creates a tableaux of Joan's imaginative reflections on her life as she awaits her demise. The Little Orchestra Society, conducted by Dino Anagnost together with guest artists Kate Baldwin and Shuler Hensley, soloists, multiple choruses and even a rarely heard instrument, the ondes Martenot, will be partnering with media designer, concert producer and Classical 105.9FM WQXR host Elliott Forrest to provide a large-scale visual enhancement to the performance. With this reimagining of Honegger's dramatic work, you will be brought into this emotionally charged moment in the life of one of the world's most renowned heroines.
