WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Abrons Arts Center presents the acclaimed Wallace Roney Group in the first of a new series of jazz concerts. Embracing the legacy of his mentor Miles Davis, three-time Grammy-winning trumpeter and composer Wallace Roney brings a genre-bending sound that merges the musical past with the musical future. Praised for fusing acoustic and electric elements and incorporating funky, urban beats into his music, Roney's illustrious career boasts performances with such musical greats as Art Blakey, Walter Davis Jr., Herbie Hancock, Sonny Rollins, Carole King, Joni Mitchell and none other than Miles Davis himself.
