WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Jason Graae celebrates Jerry Herman's 80th birthday with songs from such beloved Herman classics as Hello Dolly!, The Grand Tour, Mame, La Cage Aux Folles, Mack and Mabel, and Milk and Honey. Perfect Hermany features Musical Director John Boswell with direction by Lee Tannen.
Perfect Hermany grew out of Jason's long association with Jerry Herman and his respect and admiration for his work. Jason toured the country with Jerry Herman in ASCAP's Hello Jerry!; starred in the West Coast revival of THE GRAND TOUR, repeating the role at the York Theatre's Musicals in Mufti; was featured in Mack and Mabel in Concert at Lincoln Center, and recently appeared on PBS in the Jerry Herman documentary "Words and Music".

I can't remember the last cabaret show I saw where there was an overture -- never mind, one where the star played the clarinet. But what will linger longest about Jason Graae's
Perfect Hermany, the Broadway veteran's loving tribute to composer-lyricist Jerry Herman now at the Laurie Beechman Theatre at the West Bank Cafe, is how hard I laughed.
Armed with the timing of the expert stand-up comic, a delicious array of facial expressions, and the uncanny ability to engage the audience as conspirators in his tomfoolery, Graae -- who first debuted this show in Los Angeles -- often leaves spectators in stitches.
