When Caroline Long witnesses her son Steven assaulting an innocent man, she is forced to make a decision. Does she walk away and pretend she did not see it? Or do 'the right thing' and report it to the police? And how will her husband Michael and family react? Caroline reports Steven to the police. Steven is convicted of assault and imprisoned for two years and Caroline's family rejects her. Forced to leave the family home, and banned from seeing her beloved grandson Liam, she moves in with Fay, a schoolteacher she befriended on the day of the incident, and instrumental in Caroline's decision. Caroline is forced to leave when Fay thinks she is being followed, and fears for her life. Caroline returns to Michael. Steven is released from prison. Is he full of remorse? Does he regret it? Does he ask for forgiveness? Does Caroline have another decision to make?
