Spend an evening with award-winning author Joyce Carol Oates for a special reading of I Stand Before You Naked, to benefit Safe Horizon.

I Stand Before You Naked explores the lives of "women oppressed by their husbands, their lovers, and themselves - a searing look at misplaced love, infidelity, prostitution, and the primal desire to be loved."

The reading, directed by Bill Connington, stars Tony-nominated actress Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q, It Must Be Him). Joyce Carol Oates will join faculty experts from John Jay College in a free panel discussion on the oppression of women at 5:30 to 6:30.
