WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
GRAVY by Dana Tarantino is subtitled "A Passive-Aggressive Italian-American Comedy." It is a one-woman hilarious comedy that sheds light into the central character's ("Angela") life, loves, family and Italian American traditions as she cooks on stage, and teaches the audience the "secret" to making the perfect Italian gravy. The play never resorts to stereotype, as "Angela," sometimes coy and reserved, oftentimes ribald and risqué, comes to terms with her heritage, insecurities, and family conflicts as she prepares dinner in this ethnic comedy. Produced by Angela C. Vuolo and directed by Dana Tarantino, GRAVY stars Marianne Ferrari as "Angela." Among numerous productions in New York, Los Angeles, and regionally including the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Ms. Ferrari has appeared in God of Carnage at Theatre By The Sea, Into The Woods at the Twin Tiers Theater Festival.
