Good Housekeeping's Shine On awards is an annual salute to women whose intelligence, dedication, and nerve changed our lives forever. Last year's "Shine On" was hosted by Brooke Shields and featured many surprise appearances including Jessica Simpson, Hilary Duff, Kristen Bell and a performance by Aretha Franklin.

This year's star-studded event will be hosted by Rebecca Romijn, and will include presentations by Academy-Award winners Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn. Other highlights of the evening will include an opening performance by Grammy winner Eve, who wrote an original song for the occasion.

Ppoceeds will help build the first permanent location in Washington, D.C., for the National Women's History Museum, which is dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and celebrating the diverse historic contributions of women.
