Alumni from around the world of musical group GloryStar present a gala concert. In addition to choral performances from the global GloryStar Alumni Chorus, LA GloryStar Children's Chorus, Taipei GloryStar Women's Chorus, and American East Taiwanese Chorus, we will showcase many of our distinguished alumni in solo and ensemble works.
The repertoire for the evening will span music across many genres and cultures - from German composer Felix Mendelssohn to the founding father of choral works in Taiwain Chuan-Sheng Lu, who served as GloryStar's music director for decades.
The GloryStar Children's Chorus is renowned for being a pivotal music group in Taiwanese choral development. Chuan-Sheng Lu, who is considered the founding father of choral works in Taiwan, served as GloryStar's music director for decades. In the early 1960's, the chorus was invited to perform at Lincoln Center but unfortunately was not able to attend. Nearly 45 years later, this gala celebrates the completion of their journey from Taiwan to Lincoln Center.
