The French Institute Alliance Française presents a musical weekend to be remembered. Two extraordinary chamber concerts presented at the gorgeous Florence Gould Hall Friday, April 29 at 8pm: MARCEL PROUST AS MUSICIAN Take an excursion into the world of Marcel Proust, complete with a concert of his favorite music introduced on film by Jean-Jacques Nattiez, author of Proust as Musician. In English. Program: Camille Saint-Saens Sonata No.1,Opus 75 for Violin and Piano César Frank Sonata for Cello and Piano Quintet Sunday, May 1 at 7:30pm: PIERRE BOULEZ AT 80 This celebration of Pierre Boulez's 80th birthday explores more than fifty years of his compositions. Each piece will be introduced by the maestro himself in a film made especially for this concert. In English.
