Since its founding, the Flea has become a highly acclaimed mainstay of Off-Off Broadway and the downtown theater scene, and was named "the best performing arts group/venue in New York City 2001" by City Search. The Flea is Committed to providing its artists and audiences with
state-of-the-art performance facilities and to creating a forum for the development of distinctive, high-quality work. A typical week at the Flea features up to 17 performances of dance, theater and music, providing a sense of community and support for performers and audience
members alike.
