WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
St. Ann's Warehouse presents The Music of Fela Kuti, a free concert on the panoramic Pier 1 of Brooklyn Bridge Park. Sahr Ngaujah, the magnetic star, and the live band from FELA! on Broadway, will perform music by the towering Nigerian figure who invented Afrobeat. Funds for The Music of Fela Kuti in Brooklyn Bridge Park have been provided by The New York City Council: Speaker Christine Quinn, Domenic M. Recchia, Jr., Stephen Levin and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs: Kate Levin, Commissioner. Special thanks to Borough President Marty Markowitz and Stephen and Ruth Hendel.
