El Barberillo De Lavapiés (The Merry Barber of Lavapiés) marked the birth of the golden age of modern zarzuela. Its sparkling melodies suggest the gaiety of Rossini's Barber of Seville translated into the Spanish idiom. Set in Madrid at the time of Goya and performed by a brilliant cast of singers from Spain, Mexico and Cuba!
