WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
On the longest day of the year, Eddie Palmieri will "extend his play on an extended day," appearing with his Afro-Caribbean Jazz Octet in Rockefeller Park as part of the River To River Festival. The performance is part of EP75, a worldwide celebration of the 75th year of Palmieri's storied life and the legendary music he's created. Known for his charismatic power and bold innovative drive, Palmieri has a musical career that spans over 50 years and includes nine Grammy Awards. A legendary bandleader of Salsa and Latin Jazz orchestras, he has toured Europe, Asia, Australia, Latin America, North Africa and the Caribbean.
