WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
In the first part of the program, James Melton, Director of Choral Activities at Vanguard University, will conduct Franz Schubert's Mass in G. The performance will featuring Distinguished Concerts Singers International:Vanguard University Choir (CA), St. Andrew's Chuch (CA), Tacoma Baptist High School Choir (WA), and Cole Valley Christian Concert Choir (ID).
The International Honors Wind Symphony will then take the stage, led by conductors Abel Ramirez, Acting Director of Bands at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and James Keene, Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois School of Music.
About the International Honors Wind Symphony:
Each year, DCINY auditions high school and college instrumentalists from around the world for our prestigious International Honors Wind Symphony. Accepted participants gather in New York for an intensive rehearsal and educational residency, culminating in a performance at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall
