City Center Encores! open its Great American Musicals in Concert Season with Carnival, directed by Kathleen Marshall with music and lyrics by Bob Merrill and book by Micahel Stewart. The musical follows the story of Lili and her adventures with a small circus traveling through the French countryside. The cast features Debbie Gravitte as the Incomparable Rosalie, Anne Hathaway as Lili, Brian Stokes Mitchell as the crippled puppeteer Paul, and Douglas Sills as magician Marco the Magnificent.
