WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Founded in early 2008 by celebrated clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein, The Zimro Project is a unique ensemble dedicated to incorporating Jewish art music into chamber music programs. Inspired by the Zimro Ensemble, a group that was active a century ago in Russia under the guidance of Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, the afternoon will feature performances of Prokofiev's Overture on Hebrew Themes and Osvaldo Golijov's "The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind."
Alexander Fiterstein, clarinet; Sharon Roffman, violin; Lily Francis, violin; Alexis Sykes, viola; Nicholas Canellakis, cello; Steven Beck, piano.
