Vocalist Capathia Jenkins and songwriter/performer Louis Rosen have lots to celebrate as they return to Birdland: their third engagement at the legendary club, the third anniversary of their remarkable and continually-expanding collaboration, and their acceptance of an offer to perform from projects past, present and future, all penned by Rosen specifically for the Jenkins/Rosen collaboration. Highlights include selections from Twelve Songs on Poems by Maya Angelou; "Dream Suite", on poems by Langston Hughes; and highlights from their recent debut recording South Side Stories, as well as a preview of their upcoming album, scheduled for release in Spring 2008. Joining them for this special celebration are their favorite accompanists, pianist Kimberly Grigsby and bassist David Phillips.
