Amas Musical Theatre presents a "Blast from the Past" Gala Benefit with special Rosie Award honoree Maurice Hines, featuring a Benefit Concert of Broadway Soul. The star-studded concert performance is a song and dance tribute to America's greatest jazz composers, with music and lyrics by Alberta Hunter, Louis Jordan, Billy Strayhorn, Benny Goodman, Chick Webb, Fats Waller, J.C. Johnson, Duke Ellington, Earl Hines, Eubie Blake, Cab Calloway, and Andy Razaf. The evening also spotlights a special tribute to Louis Armstrong and Mahalia Jackson. Broadway Soul features musical direction by Will Barrow and choreography by Leslie Dockery; it was directed and arranged by Chapman Roberts.
