Together with lyricist Fred Ebb, Mr. Kander wrote some of the greatest musicals of all time, including Cabaret, Chicago, New York, New York, Zorba and Kiss of the Spider Woman. For nearly five decades, Kander & Ebb were one of Broadway's preeminent songwriting teams, the longest-running music-and-lyrics partnership in Broadway musical history. Their signature tunes include "Cabaret," "New York, New York," "How Lucky Can You Get," "Maybe This Time" and "All That Jazz." A warm, funny and articulate man whose melodies you never forget, Mr. Kander is the recipient of three Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards and two Emmy Awards.
