I caught BETTE DAVIS AINT FOR SISSIES at the NYC FRINGE on opening night and was sad to see the ill-informed review in Backstage. I think the reviewer missed the point. I am a Bette Davis fan and actress and have read all her bios and YES!! I love that she is a saucy bitch in her later films but I think Jessica Sher did a great job at giving us a very human and private side of an icon..replete with her vulnerabilities...soryy, I dont need to see a smoking, touch as nails bitch, there is enough of that out there. If you want to see a cool re-imagination of a particular time in the great Ms. BETTE DAVIS"S life, then this show does a great job honoring that.
