WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

In 2005, the Barbican and the BBC hosted a televised concert celebrating the work of Bob Dylan with many of the performers who have sung his songs. In introducing Barb Jungr, Billy Bragg said she was "possibly the best interpreter of Bob Dylan's songs" - a view that is shared on both sides of the Atlantic and in Australia, where Jungr has been wowing audiences and critics with her astonishingly powerful reinterpretations of the legendary songwriter's work. With the release of her critically acclaimed and top selling Every Grain of Sand in 2002, Jungr explored both Dylan's lesser known and well known repertoire. Since that time, her last three releases have each contained two further Dylan compositions. Demands have increased for her to sing an evening of exclusively Dylan material, and her three Dylan shows at last year's Adelaide Cabaret festival were resounding sell-out hits. Due to this demand, Jungr has created a new show that combines her most popular interpretations with new Dylan pieces. Jungr is accompanied by virtuoso musician, pianist and accordionist Charlie Giordano, who has recently worked on tour and recorded with Bruce Springsteen in his Grammy-nominated We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions.
