Art Tatum: Piano Starts Here is a very special theatrical performance at Harlem's world famous Apollo Theater. It is an original play and features re-performances of Tatem at his best and songs from the Zenph/Sony BMG Masterworks CD entitled, Piano Starts Here (released June 3). With projected visuals and spotlight soliloquies, Art Tatum: Piano Starts Here celebrates one of the "giants of jazz" as if he were alive and fans could hear him play in person. Proceeds benefit the National Jazz Museum in Harlem.

Art Tatum: Piano Starts Here is an original show starring actor Paul Butler of Broadway and television fame. The story line centers on a Harlem jazz club circa 1956 "Doc Hanley's Place". At 60, Doc is shutting down his place and wants to reminisce about the jazz greats who graced his stage. In his opinion, the greatest artist and talent on any instrument, was his friend, Art Tatum.
