Created by the ensemble as an imaginative, colorful performance piece, alice...Alice...ALICE!, will appeal to audiences of all ages. For adults, Alice presents themes of darkness, the unknown and the discontent of enchantment. Irondale's version addresses themes of growing up in an age where there are no "real" children, an age where gated communities, protective parents and fear of the unknown have created deep fears of "safe" settings. For the younger audiences, alice...Alice...ALICE!, takes them on a magical journey of story telling and adventure where extraordinary settings and creative costumes permeate their minds on both conscious and unconscious levels. There is something here for everyone, and this fascinating show has the skill and wit to appeal to a wide audience on many different levels.
