WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Acclaimed historian Alan Brinkley has written the definitive biography of Henry Luce, entitled, The Publisher: Henry Luce and His American Century. As the founder of Time, Fortune and Life magazines, Luce changed the way we consume news and the way we understand our world. In this extraordinary book, Brinkley shows how Luce created the "news-magazine" that would change the way Americans consume and think about the news. With this historical perspective as a starting point, Alan Brinkley and Frank Rich discuss the implications of Luce's life and work for journalism and media today, as well as look towards the future in our ever-changing world.

A signing of Alan Brinkley's The Publisher: Henry Luce and His American Century will follow the event.
