WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

National Theatre Live brings you the best of British theatre, broadcast from London to a world-wide audience via satellite to over 300 venues in 22 countries around the globe.

Following its sold-out run at Lincoln Center, this groundbreaking work from internationally acclaimed Complicite, directed by Simon McBurney, was winner of the 2008 Olivier Award for Best New Play.

A Disappearing Number embraces the universal relevance of math, which often permeates the most unlikely of scenarios. The play revolves around the mathematical and spiritual nature of infinity, which becomes the link between two mathematicians: one an established Cambridge professor, G.H. Hardy, the other a young, autodidactic genius from India, Srinivasa Ramanujan.

Coproduced by Complicite, Barbicanbite07, Ruhrfestspiele, Weiner Festwochen, and Holland Festival, in association with Theatre Royal Plymouth.
