WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The 92nd Street Y celebrates the evolution of music technology at the cultural center's annual Gala Benefit. The legendary radio broadcaster "Cousin Brucie" Morrow hosts Let Us Entertain You: A Journey through Modern Music Machines, a show featuring performances by Ann Hampton Callaway, Sam Harris, Jessica Molaskey, the Bill Billig Orchestra, John Pizzarelli, Neil Sedaka, The Shirelles, and the Young People's Chorus of New York City.

To date, the gala benefit has raised $2.5 million to support programs at the 92nd Street Y, a unique combination of cultural center, community organization and educational institution. The Y's wide-ranging array of classes, activities and events for children, teenagers, and adults offers opportunities for lifelong learning, enjoyment of the arts, Jewish exploration, and personal and family development. Funds raised through the gala benefit also support the Y's scholarship fund, which provides nearly $1 million in financial aid each year so that everyone can enjoy these programs regardless of economic circumstance.
