In 75 INCHES, Dick Scanlan juxtaposes his experience as an erstwhile drag queen in the off-Broadway musical PAGEANT against the implications of manhood in his given name. The result is a hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking monologue in which Mr. Scanlan challenges the concept of effeminacy and homosexuality, who you have sex with vs. how you behave. Filled with sequins, sex, sophistication, and set against the darkest days of the AIDS epidemic, 75 INCHES gives new meaning the expression size queen.
