Wicked's Lindsay Mendez and More Broadway Favorites Set for Band Geeks in Concert

Two concert performances of the musical Band Geeks will be presented at 54 Below on January 18. The shows will feature Jill Abramovitz (Cinderella), F. Michael Haynie (Wicked, NBC’s Peter Pan LIVE!), Lindsay Mendez (Wicked), Ruthie Ann Miles (Here Lies Love), Mike Millan (Piece of My Heart), Patti Murin (Lysistrata Jones), Ben Platt (The Book of Mormon, Pitch Perfect), Daniel Quadrino (Newsies, NBC’s Peter Pan LIVE!), and more.

Band Geeks features music by Mark Allen, Gaby Alter, and Tommy Newman, lyrics by Alter and Newman, and a book by Gordon Greenberg and Newman. The plot follows the Cuyahoga High Marching Beavers. "When a troubled athlete is relegated to their ranks, Elliott, the tuba-playing band captain and Laura, his best friend, must find a way to unite the band, embrace their inner geek, and save the Marching Beavers."

Lorin Latarro will direct, with music direction by Jacob Yates. The event is produced by Shoshana Feinstein.
