Off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre will honor Tony-winning director Michael Mayer at the company's annual gala, set to take place on Monday, May 14, at the Edison Ballroom. The evening, chaired by Cody Lassen, will also toast the company's 35th anniversary.

Mayer has been a member of the Vineyard family for nearly 25 years, directing half-a-dozen plays and musicals including the world premiere of Brooklynite. On Broadway, he has staged Side Man, Spring Awakening, Thoroughly Modern Millie, American Idiot, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He is the director of the upcoming musical Head Over Heels, featuring the songs of the Go-Go's.

The event will include a cocktail hour and auction, dinner, and a 35th-anniversary performance featuring artists of stage and screen, to be announced.
