At their gala benefit on May 15, Urban Stages' will celebrate "The Magic of Set and Costume Design" by presenting the 2017 Urban Stages' Lifetime Achievement Award to legendary Oscar-, Emmy-, and Tony-winning set and costume designer Tony Walton (A Tale of Two Cities). The award will be presented by Broadway, television, and film star Melissa Errico (Irving Berlin's White Christmas). The event is set to take place at the Boathouse in Central Park.

The evening will include cocktails, gondola rides in Central Park, and entertainment by the theater's teaching artist as well as a special performance by Errico. This year, Christie's Auction House will serve as auctioneer for Urban Stages' exclusive live auction, which includes luxury vacations, golf adventures, and theater tickets.

The gala fundraiser will benefit Urban Stages' season of developing and producing new plays and musicals as well as Urban Stages' celebrated Outreach Program, which brings over 25 different programs to libraries and schools in all five boroughs of NYC.
