MCC Theater has announced that two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers will direct Robert Askins' Permission. The world premiere is set to run from April 29-June 7, 2015, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

Permission is a follow-up to Hand To God, Askins' MCC Theater production from last season which just announced its plans to head to Broadway in March 2015.

In the new play, Eric and Cyndy have decided to follow the lead of their friends Zach and Shelley and make Christian Domestic Discipline the foundation of their marriage. But restructuring their lives and their union upends everything they knew about one another.

Alex Timbers codirected Peter and the Starcatcher and directed and wrote the book for Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, among others. Off-Broadway, he has directed Here Lies Love and Love’s Labours Lost at the Public Theater.
