Legendary actor/activist Theodore Bikel will be honored by 54 Below and KulturfestNYC in a concert entitled Another Hundred Years, set to take place August 5 at 9:30pm.

Another Hundred Years will celebrate the influence Jewish culture had and continues to have on Broadway composers. The show is expected to feature showtunes from Tin Pan Alley to today, written by the likes of Irving Berlin, Stephen Sondheim, Bock and Harnick, and Jason Robert Brown, among many others.

The tribute to Bikel will include performers David Edwards and Jonathan Hadley, both of whom performed with Bikel in productions of Fiddler on the Roof, as well as Peter Davenport, who played Captain Von Trapp in the first national tour of The Sound of Music, a role Bikel originated on Broadway.

The concert is produced in conjunction with National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene’s historic 101st season and is performed in English. Special guest contemporary songwriters will have their work showcased towards the evening’s end, and a "Jewish Broadway"-themed menu will be available for noshing.

Another Hundred Years is conceived and produced by Chris Massimine, Jamibeth Margolis, and Megan Minutillo, who will also direct. Ben Krauss serves as musical director.
