The Playwrights Realm has announced the lineup for its annual new play festival Ink'd, which runs April 17-20 at 3pm and 7pm at the Loft at Theater 511.

Ink'd is the culminating event of the Realm’s Writing Fellowship program. Born out of a desire to create more ongoing support systems for early career playwrights, the program also provides a $3,000 stipend, monthly script meetings, professional development sessions with industry leaders, a director-and-designer pairing for the playwright to work with throughout the year, and a 15-hour internal reading.

The lineup includes Sugar in Our Wounds by Donja R. Love, directed by Saheem Ali and featuring Christopher Livingston, Marchant Davis, Tiffany Rachelle Stewart, and Elise Kibler. Also on tap is Liza Birkenmeier's Radio Island, directed by Katherine Brook and featuring Nedra McClyde, Lynn McCollough, Charlie Hudson III, and Kate Weber. Clarence Coo's The Birds of Empathy, directed by Jesse Geiger, will star Jeffrey Omura, Robin de Jesús, Wai Ching Ho, and Bill Buell. Eve’s Song, by Patricia Ione Lloyd and directed by Donya K. Washington, will be choreographed by Stefanie Batten Bland and feature Shakeerah Frederick, Marquis Rodriguez, Christine Osuala, and Sharon Washington.
