If you haven't been able to make it over to the Majestic Theatre for the past 27 years, your wait for the Phantom may finally be over.

According to TVLine, The Phantom of the Opera might be coming directly to your television screens in a Phantom-themed series, set in the modern-day music business. Though the one-hour scripted drama, whose pilot was recently ordered by ABC, will not be a musical, it will contain musical elements in the spirit of the network's hit series Nashville. The composers behind Broadway's First Date, Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, are on the case, scripting the pilot episode, with Marc Cherry and partner Sabrina Wind serving as executive producers on the project.

A timeline for the series has not yet been announced. However, if the past three decades have taught us nothing else, we've learned that Phantom has got some serious staying power.
