Ben Fankhauser, Lindsay Mendez, and Margo Seibert Open in Sondheim's Saturday Night

The York Theatre Company production of Stephen Sondheim and Julius J. Epstein's Saturday Night kicked off its Musicals in Mufti run as a staged reading on November 9. Directed by Stafford Arima,with musical supervision by Paul Gemignani, the show features a 15-member cast made up of Matthew Bauman, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Ben Fankhauser, Jeremy Greenbaum, Olli Haaskivi, Michael Thomas Holmes, Greg Kamp, Jared Loftin, Lindsay Mendez, Kenita Miller, Lance Roberts, Matthew Scott, Margo Seibert, Jim Stanek, and Dana Steingold.

Inspired by the play Front Porch in Flatbush by Julius J. Epstein and Philip G. Epstein, Saturday Night tells the story of a group of friends looking for love and the better things in life in 1929 Brooklyn. Written in the 1950s, Sondheim's first musical had its New York premiere in 2000. The York production marks its first major revival.
