Full Casting Announced for The Real Thing, With Ewan McGregor, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Cynthia Nixon

Full casting has been announced for the upcoming Broadway revival of Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing, starring Ewan McGregor, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Cynthia Nixon. The Roundabout Theatre Company production, directed by Sam Gold, will begin performances October 2, with opening night set for October 30 at the American Airlines Theatre.

Ronan Raftery joins the cast as Billy. The cast also includes Josh Hamilton, Alex Breaux, and Madeline Weinstein. The creative team features David Zinn (set design), Kaye Voyce (costume design), Mark Barton (lighting design), and Bray Poor (sound design).

The Real Thing, which won a Tony Award for Best Play when it premiered on Broadway in 1984, follows Henry (McGregor), a playwright unhappily married to the leading actress in his play, which is about a collapsing marriage. When Henry begins an affair with their friend Annie (Gyllenhaal), life begins to imitate art. When Annie leaves her own husband to start a new life with Henry, he must decide whether their love is real.
