Jersey Boys' Richard H. Blake to Star in Industry Reading of PopStar

An exclusive reading of the new musical PopStar will be held Monday, October 19. Directed by Sharon Rosen, PopStar features music and lyrics by Jay Levine and Sophie Dupin and a book by Martin Casella. Kenny Seymour will lend music direction.
The musical follows a struggling record producer who wants to find America's next big thing in pop music. After discovering a brilliant young teenager in the wilds of Idaho, he realizes that creating a new musical sensation won't be as easy as he thought. But with the help of some of his very famous friends, he not only makes the boy into a pop star, he finds a family of his own along the way.
The cast will feature Richard H. Blake (Jersey Boys) as Buzz, Matthew Rodin as Luka, Courtney Ann Cheatham as Katie, Lindsay Morgan as Daphne, Perry Young as Marco Munoz, L. Steven Taylor (The Lion King) as the Lodge, Corinne Melancon (Mamma Mia!) as Mimi Palmer, Francesca Arostegui as Daisy Sanchez, and Vishaal Reddy as Chaz Janki. The ensemble also includes Adam Hyndman, Sean Doherty, Tyler Hardwick, Samia Mounts, and Kendra Vernon.
