The Playwrights Realm will celebrate its eighth anniversary with its annual Writers Block Party on Monday, April 20, at the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse in the Samuel B. & David Rose Building.

The Writers Block Party will feature hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and the return of the Play-B-Q, a series of short comedic plays written by the Realm’s current Writing Fellows (Michael Yates Crowley, Sarah Gancher, Emma Goidel, and Tony Meneses). All proceeds from the Writers Block Party will go toward the Realm's programs, including the Writing Fellowship, the Page One Residency, the New Play Development Pipeline, the Alumni Playwrights Group, and their newly minted Alumni Production.

"Our Writers Block Party is an opportunity for us to honor the extraordinary work of our writing fellows, residents, and alumni, and what better way to do that than with four sharp funny plays written especially for the night," said artistic director Katherine Kovner. "And I can’t wait to share some surprises about what is in store for our ninth season."

The Playwrights Realm's recent season included City Of and My Mañana Comes.
