Drama Desk-Nominated Pageant — The Musical Sets Cast Album Release Date

The previously announced cast recording of off-Broadway's Pageant will be released on June 22 at Pageant: The Original Cast Recording Launch Concert. The cast of the recent revival, which is nominated for a 2015 Drama Desk Award for Best Revival of a Musical, is set to reunite for a launch party at 54 Below at 9:30pm the same day.
Pageant is written by Bill Russell and Frank Kelly, with music by Albert Evans and concept by Robert Longbottom. The musical, which began performances on June 29, officially opened at the Davenport Theatre on July 14. The new production was directed by Matt Lenz, with choreography by Shea Sullivan and music direction by Mark Hartman.
In Pageant, unlike some beauty pageants, the female contestants are all played by men. The cast featured Nick Cearley, Nic Cory, Alex Ringler, Marty Thomas, Seth Tucker, and Curtis Wiley, with John Bolton as the host.
The show's design featured costumes by Stephen Yearick, scenic design by Paul DePoo, lighting by Paul Miller, and sound by David Sanderson.
