Michael C. Hall Pulls His Wig Out of the Box for His First Performance in Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Michael C. Hall makes his Belasco debut tonight in the Tony-winning revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He becomes the third star to take on the role of the East German transgender rocker in the Broadway production, following in the platform-shoed footsteps of Neil Patrick Harris, who earned a Tony Award for his performance, and Tony nominee Andrew Rannells, who played his final show on Sunday, October 12. Lena Hall continues in her Tony Award-winning role as Yitzhak.
Hall's Broadway musical credits include Billy Flynn in Chicago and the Emcee in Cabaret. He is best known for his Golden Globe-winning, five-time Emmy-nominated performance as the serial killer Dexter Morgan on Showtime's Dexter, as well as his Emmy-nominated role as David Fisher on HBO's Six Feet Under.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch features a book by John Cameron Mitchell and score by Stephen Trask. Michael Mayer directs the production, which utilizes a band made up of Justin Craig (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Matt Duncan (bass, vocals), Tim Mislock (guitar, vocals), and Peter Yanowitz (drums, vocals).
