MCC Theater has announced that the New York premiere of Jennifer Haley’s The Nether has extended for a final time through March 29 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The production, which opened on February 24, was previously scheduled to run through March 22. Anne Kauffman directs.

The Nether explores the complicated morality of a new frontier in the digital world: a virtual playground where people can be coaxed into acting out their darkest fantasies, with no "real world" consequences. The play had its world premiere in Los Angeles in 2013 at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre, and recently opened a production in London's West End at the Royal Court Theatre.

The MCC cast features Emmy Award winner Merritt Wever, Tony winner Frank Wood, Tony nominee Peter Friedman, Ben Rosenfield, and Sophia Anne Caruso.

In related news, playwright Jennifer Haley has just been announced as a nominee for the 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Play for the current West End production at Duke of York’s Theatre.
