Mary-Louise Parker to Return to the Stage in New Drama by Curious Incident Playwright

Tony and Emmy winner Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds, Proof) will return to the New York stage this summer in a six-week run of the new drama Heisenberg, written by Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time). The production, directed by Mark Brokaw, will play Manhattan Theatre Club's Studio at Stage II beginning May 19. Opening night is set for June 3.
Parker, who won her Tony for Proof and her Emmy for Angels in America, will star opposite Kenneth Welsh, known for his performance as villain Windom Earle on the popular series Twin Peaks. The plot concerns a woman who kisses an older man at a London train station and the sparks that fly.
The creative team for Heisenberg includes Mark Wendland (scenic design), Michael Krass (costume design), Donald Holder (lighting design), and David Van Tieghem (original music & sound design).
Stephens' plays also include Punk Rock, Bluebird, and Harper Regan. Brokaw directed Parker in the Vineyard Theatre's original off-Broadway production of How I Learned to Drive and MTC's 2004 production of Craig Lucas' Reckless. He also helmed the Broadway productions of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella and The Lyons, among others.
