Laura Benanti and Josh Radnor to Star in New Broadway Revival of She Loves Me

Tony Award winner Laura Benanti (Gypsy, Nashville) and Josh Radnor (Disgraced) will star in a new Broadway revival of the classic musical She Loves Me in the spring of 2016. Part of Roundabout Theatre Company's 50th Anniversary season, the musical is to be directed by six-time Tony nominee Scott Ellis (On the Twentieth Century).
Featuring a score by Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock and a book by Joe Masteroff, She Loves Me tells the story of Georg (Radnor) and Amalia (Benanti), a pair of sparring coworkers at a perfume shop. Unknowingly, they're also romantic pen pals who happen to be falling for each other. First presented on Broadway in 1963, She Loves Me is inspired by the play Parfumerie by Miklós László, which also inspired the films The Shop Around the Corner and You've Got Mail.
In 1993, She Loves Me launched Roundabout's musical theater program and also became the first Broadway musical the company produced. That production, also directed by Ellis, starred Judy Kuhn and Boyd Gaines. A Roundabout gala reading of She Loves Me in 2011 starred Radnor and Kelli O'Hara.
Benanti's Broadway credits include Gypsy, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Into the Woods, In the Next Room (or The Vibrator Play), and Nine. She will next be seen onstage in Manhattan Concert Productions' Parade in Concert followed by Radio City Music Hall's upcoming New York Spring Spectacular. Radnor starred on Broadway in The Graduate and played a seven-season run on the television series How I Met Your Mother.
Full casting, creative team, venue, and dates for Roundabout's revival of She Loves Me will be announced in the coming months. The revival joins a star-studded season that also includes Thérèse Raquin, starring Keira Knightley, and Noises Off, starring Andrea Martin.
