The U.S. premiere of Beware of Young Girls: Kate Dimbleby Sings the Dory Previn Story begins performances at 59E59 Theaters on December 16 in advance of a December 18 opening, and will run through January 4.

Beware of Young Girls celebrates the life and songbook of 1970s lyricist and songwriter Dory Previn, who became best known as the woman whom her husband, André Previn, left for a considerably younger Mia Farrow. The show is cowritten by Amy Rosenthal and creator and performer Kate Dimbleby, with direction by Cal McCrystal and piano accompaniment by Naadia Sheriff.

Previn's tunes have been sung by an illustrious list of stars, including Tony Bennet, Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney, and Doris Day. She released six pop/folk albums of original songs including On My Way to Where (which includes the title song "Beware of Young Girls"), Mary C. Brown and the Hollywood Sign, Mythical Kings and Iguanas, and Reflections in a Mud Puddle. She also wrote lyrics for a number of Oscar-nominated songs such as "You're Gonna Hear From Me" from Inside Daisy Clover and "Come Saturday Morning" from The Sterile Cuckoo. She and her husband at the time, composer André Previn, also collaborated on several other songs for film including "The Faraway Part of Town" from Pepe and "Theme From Valley of the Dolls."
