New York's long-running Wizard of Oz-inspired musical, Wicked, has announced a new slew of cast members to join the Broadway company in the Emerald City (aka the Gershwin Theatre) beginning December 16.

Broadway's newest Elphaba-Glinda pairing will be Caroline Bowman (Kinky Boots) and Kara Lindsay, best known for her performance as Katherine in the original Broadway cast of Newsies.

Also joining the primary cast are Matt Shingledecker (West Side Story), who takes on the role of Fiyero, and two-time Tony nominee Robin De Jesús (La Cage aux Folles) as Boq. Kathy Fitzgerald will also return to the cast Madame Morrible, a role she previously performed on Broadway and in the show's national tour.

The roles of Elphaba, Glinda, Fiyero, Madame Morrible, and Boq are currently being played by Christine Dwyer, Jenni Barber, Justin Guarini, Mary Testa, and Michael Wartella, respectively. The current cast also features Tom McGowan as The Wizard, Kelli Barrett as Nessarose, and Timothy Britten Parker as Dr. Dillamond.

Directed by Joe Mantello, Wicked features a score by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. Inspired by Gregory Maguire's novel of the same name, the musical opened at the Gershwin Theatre October 30, 2003.
