The Voice winner Josh Kaufman will make his Broadway debut in the title role of Pippin beginning November 4 at the Music Box Theatre. The singer, who replaces Kyle Dean Massey, will take on the role through January 4.

Massey departs the production on November 2. Kaufman will star along with Carly Hughes as the Leading Player, Tony Award nominee John Dossett as Charles, Tony Award nominee Charlotte d’Amboise as Fastrada, and Rachel Bay Jones as Catherine. The actor taking over the role of Berthe during that time has not yet been announced.

Other members of the company include Mike Schwitter, Eli Tokash, Ashton Woerz, Mackenzie Bell, Colin Cunliffe, Ariana DeBose, Andrew Fitch, Orion Griffiths, Lauren Joy Herley, Naël Jammal, Nicolas Jelmoni, Sam Lips, Richard Maguire, Brad Musgrove, Charlotte O’Sullivan, Adam Roberts, Masha Terentieva, Kristen Beth Williams, and Lara Seibert Young.

Directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus, the revival of Stephen Schwartz and Roger O. Hirson's classic coming-of-age musical features the death-defying tricks of a contemporary circus with choreography by Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse, and features circus creations by Gypsy Snider of the circus troupe Les 7 doigts de la main. The production opened at the Music Box Theatre in 2013.
