Tony Nominee John Dossett to Join Jennifer Nettles in the Cast of Chicago on Broadway

Tony nominee John Dossett (Pippin) is set to join Jennifer Nettles and the cast of Broadway's Chicago in his debut engagement as Billy Flynn beginning March 14 at the Ambassador Theatre. As previously announced, Dossett was originally slated to join the cast in January, but was sidelined with an injury.
Dossett will take over the role from Broadway favorite Alexander Gemignani, who stepped into the role following Dossett's injury. In addition to Pippin, where he played King Charles, Dossett's many Broadway credits include include Newsies, Prelude to a Kiss, The Constant Wife, Democracy, and the 2003 revival of Gypsy, for which he received a Tony nomination.
The current cast of Chicago also features Grammy Award winner and country music superstar Jennifer Nettles as Roxie Hart (through March 29), Carly Hughes as Velma Kelly (through March 29), Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines.
